Gori & Yoon studio renovated an apartment in a historic Milan house and found the perfect balance between the classic context of space and modern interior design.
Classic, aristocratic, elegant – is the best description of this apartment on Via Lovanio , Moscova area of Milan. It is located in an old house and covers an area of 182 square meters. High ceilings with stucco molding, a luxurious marble fireplace, sockets, decor on the walls and doors – all this was an excellent basic material that the designers of Gori & Yoon had to turn into a modern, comfortable home. All historical architectural details, and there are so many in the interiors, have been preserved and carefully restored: they give this place a bright personality and connect it with the past and the history of the house. The walls were painted with matt pearl-beige paint, which gives the interior a noble aristocratic look and at the same time favorably emphasizes gypsum stucco decoration.
The living room is combined with the dining room. The kitchen is behind a transparent glass wall: frames made of black painted metal bring a modern industrial note to the interior and contrast effectively with classic decor. The kitchen itself is custom made of light oak and Calacatta marble.
For the bedroom, the designers chose the most neutral, calm light palette and diluted it with a warm natural wood. This combination is just perfect for rest, peace and relaxation. And the abundance of natural light is everything you need for a pleasant pastime in the daytime.
