We show the nine most beautiful Christmas window displays of department stores and shops around the world. You can just admire them, and it is absolutely not necessary to buy anything.
Bon Marché, Paris
The windows of the fashion department store on the left bank of the Seine are decorated with various magical animals. Here are owls that do not sleep at night against the background of illuminated fir trees, singing hedgehogs and other toy animals walking along the roofs of Paris decorated for Christmas. Inside the department store, the Christmas fairy tale continues: a real spruce forest was arranged here in Christmas decorations, inside of which you can again see animals that greeted the store guests from the windows.
Bloomingdale’s, New York
At New York’s Bloomingdale’s department store, Christmas windows showcase other worlds and galaxies, space, the future and technology, because this year’s theme is Out of This World. Robots endlessly removing and putting on Christmas tree decorations on a Christmas tree, space dogs, interactive decorations, where passers-by can ask the Google smart home system to light a fireplace, turn on Christmas lights or light in a cozy room where the whole family gathered to celebrate Christmas together.
In the window displays of the fashion brand boutique Tôteme in Stockholm, cozy Christmas decorations also appeared. In the illuminated windows you can see figures of people gathered together to celebrate the winter holidays, and around them are white gift boxes with red ribbons, their geometric composition resembling the brand logo.
Fashion brand Prada has also updated the windows for Christmas. Mannequins dressed in the Prada Resort 2020 collection, like in a theater “play out” scenes from everyday life, and behind them there are festive decorations – brightly lit windows of pink and turquoise colors.
Galeries Lafayette, Paris
This year Galeries Lafayette department store turned into a bee hive: in addition to the traditional pre-holiday excitement, all eleven storefronts of the store resemble a kaleidoscope and are dedicated to bees and their thorough preparation for the holiday. Inside the department store, as always, they installed a giant Christmas tree under the dome, around which festive illumination shines and a swarm of elegant and sparkling bees swirls.
Selfridges London Department Store, as always, has approached creative window decoration. This year’s theme is Future Fantasy: A Christmas for Modern Times. The team of department store designers turned each shop window into a modern and even futuristic scenery from famous fairy tales. Somewhere you can see Cinderella, somewhere – Snow White and the seven dwarfs, and somewhere Rapunzel, enclosed in a tower of ice.
Louis Vuitton, Worldwide
In Louis Vuitton boutiques around the world, instead of traditional Christmas windows displays, will appear bright fluorescent graphic installations in blue, orange, raspberry and turquoise shades. The brand symbols and the iconic monogram will appear in the form of 3D sculptures: Christmas trees, spheres, hearts and light rays in the pop art style.
DLT, St. Petersburg
The main St. Petersburg department store, DLT, this time decorated windows in the theme of traditional Christmas three decoration. There are elegant snowflakes, as if cut out of shiny paper, gilded balls, beads and garlands, and mannequins are dressed in sparkling holiday dresses from the latest collections of fashion brands.
“Forget everything you knew about Christmas,” – is the motto of the Printemps Paris department store: this year, its windows are full of magical animals. The author of unusual scenery is the artist and illustrator Flocim Lucas. Plots with the participation of rabid squirrels, green mice, deer and other fabulous animals spread not only in the windows of Printemps, but also throughout the store. Decorators promise that each floor of the department store prepares puzzles and surprises for its guests.
